The Rumiano family were Italian immigrants to California in the early 1900’s. When hard Italian cheese was not available in the USA after World War 1, they started making Dry Jack cheese in 1919 and have been making this American Original for over 100 years. The portfolio of cheeses has grown over the years and the milk used to make the cheese comes from cows that graze year-round on pastures and naturally growing coastal grasses and is sustainable and non-GMO milk. With a deep commitment to healthy products, care for the land, and animal welfare, Rumiano becomes the first plant on the West Coast to produce Organic cheese at scale. Four generations later, Rumiano collects milk from 15 or more farms and all the dairies providing milk to Rumiano are within a 100-mile radius. Family-run from top to bottom.
