Cheesemaker David Gremmels has maintained the principles laid out in the 1930s by Tom Vella, the pioneering founder of Rogue Creamery. Rogue’s cheeses have garnered so many awards over the years, but the “Crown Jewels” include the 2003 World Cheese Award “Best Blue Cheese” and the 2019/2020 “Grand Champion” for Rogue River Blue, the only American cheese ever to win a Grand Champion honour. In 2015, Mr. Gremmels won the Specialty Food Association’s annual Business Leadership Award for advancing food standards in society – and society itself – by creating social, economic and environmental impact through innovation and vision.
